Abstract

The need for fishing supplies is important for fishermen because it is very decisive in the success offishing operations. What are the factors that affect the amount of fishing supplies needed by fishingvessels and how does it relate to the number of fishing supplies needed by fishermen at the BungusFishing Port. The research was carried out from February to March 2021. The needs for fishing suppliesneeded by fishermen include fuel, water, ice and logistical needs in the form of food and others. Theresearch method used in this research is the survey method. Data analysis in this study used multicollinearity analysis and multiple regression analysis. By looking at the value of the correlationcoefficient, the coefficient of determination, and the significance value (F test). The results showed thatall factors such as the size of the ship, the number of catches, the number of crew members, and the lengthof the fishing trip had an effect and had a positive relationship on the amount of fishing supplies neededby fishing vessels.

Abstract

Productivity of Cryptopterus spp (Selais Janggut fish) in Kuantan Singingidistrict has decreased each years. This indicates that Cryptopterus spp extinctconditions and should be a priority for recovery and restocking this fish to freshwater of Kuantan Singingi district. To recovery this fish can be done byaquaculture in cages method and restocking this fish in to freshwater byconsidering the type and environmental conditions in each type of public watersKuantan Singingi. Policy strategy in the management of fish stocks was tomanage of fishing area and by management of the conservation area of fresh waterand development of cage aquaculture program in fresh waters .Keywords: Cryptopterus spp, fish stocking, fresh water

Abstract

The research aims to develop a local food-based products in the fishprocessing of Pelalawan regency, where was knowing with the sources ofavailability of raw materials, processing centers know that can be developed, identify and characterize the product, and strategy development. This studied wasconducted with survey method, PRA analysis and SWOT analysis. Local foodprocessing activities fisheries sector as a whole has the potential to be developedmainly on the type of product smoked fish, dried shrimp and lomek dried product. That products become the flagship product was a type of smoked fish (selais, baung, and catfish) with centers of raw materials and refined products in theregion in Langgam. The main problem was that the technology which applied inthe processing of simple, raw material availability and limited productivity. Somestrategies can be applied in the development of improved productivity and qualityof fishery products, cooperation and partnership in marketing and capital, streamline the use of fishery production facilities and infrastructure, improvingtechnical quality and motivation of human resources (fish processing) to improvethe competitiveness of fishery products .Keywords: local, food-based, fish processing

Abstract

North seawaters of Bengkalis as a part of Bengkalis waters also contributeby Malacca Straits waters. This area estimate 2.398 km 2 in width and consists ofBantan Sub district waters to Bengkalis sub districtwaters area. This area yielded9.291,9 tones per annum of fish with utilization rate of almost 90%. This researchhas been done in the area during Northwest monsoonat November 2012 toSeptember 2013 for estimated density, environment and distribution of fish whichused local People Vessel as a research vessel. Result of this research that TSdistribution in the surface layer shows that a relatively small value ofthe targetstrength ranges from-64 till -94dBand the highest frequency was atthe value-73till-76dB, which indicates that most ofthe fishare spread on this area was a smallfish .Keywords : Bengkalis, distribution, density, acoustic methods, target strength.

Abstract

Selectivity of fishing gear is defined as the ability of  fishing  gear  to  achieve certain fishing targets according to type and size during the fishing process and allows all unwanted bycatch to be released without injury. The  purpose of this study was to determine the  selectivity  of  mesh  size  and composition of drift gill net in PPN Sungailiat. The result  of this research is that  the drift gill net with mesh size of 8.89 cm catches tuna with a fork length range of 32 – 45.7 cm and the highest catching ratio is found in the fork length (L) = 37.7  cm with Sa = 0.999289326. Meanwhile, the mesh size of 10.16 cm caught fish that had a fork length range of 36.6 – 50.3 cm and the highest catch ratio was for the fork length (L) = 43.3 cm with Sb = 0.999974108. So that the drift gill nets with mesh size 10.16 cm are more selective than drift gill nets with a mesh size of 8.89 cm, because the L value is larger and the S value is closer to 1.  As  well  as  catching more large fish that deserve to be caught (≥ 40 cm).
